This is the weekend of the pro bowl. the bowl is a game in which 86 of the nfl's greatest players come together and play in an AFC and NFC game. strangely though, there were some changes made to this years pro bowl. first off, its being held in miami when it is usually held in hawaii. second;y, the pro bowl is usually held the week after the super bowl, but now it is being held a week before. these new stipulations have great effects on the pro bowl. half the experience was going to hawaii. it was something really special to go and play there. and with the pro bowl being a week before the super bowl, the two teams in the super bowl don't want to play because of risk of injury. while they would love to, the super bowl is more important. there are plenty of talented athletes in the NFL, so it should still be a good game. the pro bowl will be coming on at 7:20 tomorrow. with all the all stars it looks to be a good game, so make sure to tune in. 2010 NFL pro bowl

weekend post
we are currently in the heart of the NFL playoffs. the afc championship game is between the jets and the colts. the nfc game is between the vikings and the saints. i am NOT a jets fan by any means, so i am rooting for the colts (go #18!!!). as far as the vikingsv. saints go i think the vikings will win. brett favre is still great and they have major weapons at their disposal. it should be a great weekend and i cannot wait till i get to watch it. if things go as i say they will, the superbowl in miami should be between the indianapolis colts and the minnesota vikings. i am wrong sometimes, but i should be pretty accurate with this prediction.

martin luther king " the other america"
based on the speech that i read and my prior knowledge of dr. king he was a great speaker. he spoke with power, meaning, and fluidity. dr. king spoke with a cause. his speech "the other america" was about the seperation between not only the blacks and whites, but all the minorities and whites in america. it was evident that king felt not only for the negro race in his era, but for all those who faced discrimination. the speech spoke about segregation blacks faced throughout the south. what he was saying was 100% true. things like bathrooms, movie theaters, and other public facilities were segregated to make the black man feel insignificant. through his speech he opened the eyes of many to the horrors of what black people had to go through. martin luther king was an inspirational speaker to the public, a leader to the black people, and an inspiration to the world.

from jr. high to high school was probably the hardest transition i've had to make ever. in jr. high i was king of acadmeics. nobody could touch me. i was the best of the best. at the pinnacle of my career, i was extremely cocky. the only bad thing about that is that i got lazy. it took an extreme wake up call to knock me off my high horse. when i got to high school i realized i wasn't the best and had to learn how to work hard. it took a while but i finally got there. i now study and pay attention to be succesful. like i said earlier from jr. high to high school was probably the hardest transition i've had to make ever.

weekend post

on friday january 1st, 2010 michael bloomberg became the fourth mayor in nyc history to go for a third term. Michael bloomberg isn't the city's most beloved man, but he must be doing something right to be going for a third term. according to the new york times.com bloomberg's first eight years were nothing special, not close to his status now. i believe bloomberg understands the significance of his accomplishment. from his tone i believe he does and he will make the most of it. atop the steps of city hall he said "the building behind me is yours, and the job in front of me is to listen and to lead".
